This book is a love letter to the places we grow up and the communities that raise us (it's also about Basketball). Abdurraqib is a renowned essayist and poet and this book is a beautiful mix of sports biography and essays about family, community, and home. As someone who knows nothing about basketball, I wasn’t sure the subject matter of this book would be easy to connect with - I couldn’t have been more wrong. This is the best book I’ve read so far this year!
