The Art Thief by Michael Finkel
This nonfiction book reads like a novel! The Art Thief describes the rise and fall of the world’s most prolific art thief, Stéphane Breitwieser. Breitwieser by the time he was caught had stolen more than 300 objects from various museums across Europe with the help of his girlfriend. Many of the objects and priceless pieces of artwork were burned, destroyed, or thrown in the river by Breitwieser’s mother upon his arrest. This was one of the most interesting true crime books I’ve ever read!
